ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Saturday, the Summer Wings Festival took off at the Rio Grande Nature Center in northwest Albuquerque.
The festival celebrates winged creatures found in the unique habitat.
Guests at the festival engaged in what organizers called citizen science. Participants spent the day doing a "BioBlitz," looking for and listing different species of winged creatures.
There were also guest speakers along with guided bird and nature walks. Officials hold the rally in early August each year.
