NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A moth outbreak continues to be a problem in the northern New Mexico wilderness.
The Forest Service said tussock moth caterpillars are defoliating trees south of Taos, leaving them at risk of dying.
The outbreak now covers around 3,000 acres in the Carson National Forest between Pot Creek and US Hill.
It has also been reported in the Cibola and Santa Fe National Forest.
